In April 2025, at the invitation of the Abu Dhabi 1B Subsea Tunnel Project team, our company’s leadership led a delegation to conduct an on-site inspection. The visit focused on understanding the project’s construction status, key challenges, and local technical requirements, while exploring the feasibility of applying our soil solidification technology, laying a solid foundation for the company’s global technical layout and overseas market expansion.

As a major transportation infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi, the 1B Subsea Tunnel connects Saadiyat Island and Umm Yifeena Island. Constructed using the cut-and-cover, cofferdam and backfilling method, the project started in October 2024 and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. Once operational, it will improve the regional transport network, ensure two-way navigation of the permanent channel, and support local economic development.
The project faces complex construction conditions and high demands for stable, eco-friendly and adaptable geotechnical materials, especially in cofferdam construction and foundation pit backfilling, calling for efficient and green technical solutions.
During the inspection, the delegation visited key construction areas including steel pipe pile cofferdams and site preparation. They reviewed construction arrangements, geological and hydrological conditions, and focused on the project’s needs for backfilling materials and sustainable construction.

The delegation introduced the advantages of our soil solidification technology, including in-situ soil reuse, improved strength, environmental benefits and cost efficiency. The technology reduces earth disposal and material consumption, while delivering strong water stability and durability, making it highly suitable for subsea tunnel backfilling.
Both parties held in-depth discussions on application scenarios, adaptability and technical optimization, and reached preliminary consensus on potential technical trials and future cooperation. The project team highly recognized the maturity, environmental performance and economic value of our technology, and expressed strong interest in further collaboration.

This successful inspection has deepened our understanding of the project’s requirements and created an important opportunity for our soil solidification technology to enter the international market, demonstrating our core competitiveness in geotechnical engineering.
Moving forward, the company will continue to enhance technological innovation, develop customized solutions for overseas projects, expand international cooperation, and promote more proprietary technologies to support global infrastructure development and achieve high-quality international growth.
